Rachel and Peter chose to get married at St Augustines, in Westgate, a gorgeous wedding venue that I’m pleased to say that I am a recommended photographer at, and the weather was absolutely perfect on their day.
I’ve been looking forward to Rachel and Peter’s wedding ever since they booked me, over a year ago now, as they’re such a lovely, relaxed couple to be around, and their happiness and delight in each other just makes you smile!
The girls started the day early, at the hairdressers, and then we headed over to St Augustines to start the preparations in earnest! Rachel is probably one of the most relaxed and chilled out brides I’ve photographed, but that all dissolved when she was surprised with a gift from her groom just before the ceremony – a beautiful new charm for her bracelet.
After a beautiful ceremony in the chapel (the light was absolutely gorgeous!), it was time for them to relax with drinks at the bar, although I did manage to catch them sneaking off for a quiet moment, and couldn’t resist a few photos! I love it when a bride opts for a traditional veil, and I can never resist playing with it a bit in the photos, and if you look carefully you’ll see another little lady who was equally fascinated by it!
We made full use of the newly painted gazebo for the group photos, as it makes the perfect backdrop, before I was off climbing up the fire escape stairs, yes, the ones with ‘danger, keep off the roof’ signs all over them, to capture a group shot of the whole wedding party.
