I’ve been looking through my archives recently with a view to sharing a few more weddings here on my blog, and just couldn’t resist the gorgeous colours of Vikki and Dave’s beautiful wedding at St Peter’s church and the Walpole Bay hotel to start with.
I shot their pre-wedding shoot down at Westgate beach and you can see the photos here.
When Vikki first told me that she had an orange wedding planned, I have to admit to being both impressed and worried all at the same time! I love the colour personally, as I adore bright strong colours, and actually have an orange wall in my own bedroom – and it was also my son’s favourite colour for many many years, but you have to admit that it is quite a bold choice for a wedding! When you take a look at the photos though, I think you’ll have to agree that she carried it off beautifully!
Vikki and Dave’s wedding ceremony took place in the historic St Peters church. The church itself is beautiful, decorated in mosaics and with the most gorgeous stained glass windows, and it has special meaning and memories for Dave and his family, as his father was previously the vicar of the church. The current vicar kindly allowed us to take photos during the ceremony, something that not all churches will allow these days, and I’m so grateful that he did, as it allowed me to capture some of the beauty of their love and their day in a very moving service.
Their reception was held at the Walpole Bay hotel, a gorgeous and somewhat quirky hotel overlooking the sea in Cliftonville.
As you can see, even the weather was amazing – I think the sun felt it had competition with all the brightness of the orange, as it turned out to be the hottest day of the year!
What a beautiful wedding! And did you notice the orange socks?!!
