Kent Wedding Photography at the Pegwell Bay Hotel, Ramsgate

I was particularly pleased to be asked to photograph Alina and Lewis’ wedding at the Pegwell Bay Hotel in Ramsgate for very personal reasons, as it’s the hotel where my husband and I had our own wedding reception 20 years ago! Twenty years ago the hotel owners were incredibly helpful as I was planning a wedding with very short notice, and without being able to confirm the final details until four weeks before the event depending on whether my husband to be had been given a visa to enter the country or not! Twenty years on and it seems that the staff are just as helpful, with Alina and Lewis also arranging their wedding at very short notice!

The gorgeous seaside wedding gazebo on the fully decked balcony made the most beautiful location for a summer wedding, overlooking the bay and with an evening sun low in the sky which gave the wedding an almost tropical feel. Looking at the photos it’s hard to believe that at midday the storm clouds and pelting rain gave every appearance of being there for good!  Alina chose local florist, Karen, of Black Iris for her beautiful bouquets and button holes, and they fit the location perfectly.

Thank you Alina and Lewis, for letting me share in your beautiful, emotion filled day!

Rather than the usual photo post, I’m including a fusion video of images and video from their beautiful day – Enjoy!

Growing up fast

Babies and children grow up so quickly, and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of when they reached those all important milestones, or achieved that clever new skill. With the advent of smart phones, capturing some of those moments has got easier – but what do you do with with all those photos and video clips – and what if you lose your phone? As a professional photographer I admit to being a little {well ok, maybe quite a lot} obsessive about storing photos and videos safely. I’m starting to drown in hard drives and dvd’s even, and I have endless scrapbook albums waiting for me to have the time to fill them with photos of my own children too. And I’m always looking for creative ways to showcase my work. And then I came across photo video fusion, and may well be on my way to starting a whole new obsession!

Naomi, this one is for you – it’s just an idea, in it’s early stages, but I think you’ll get the idea – and can Caleb come out to play again soon please? – I have lots of ideas on how I want to develop this, and he is just the cutest model for the job!
